What is the Regional Training
Institute?
The Regional Training Institute (RTI) was created to meet the
educational needs of regional business and industry partners while
contributing to the overall development of a competitive workforce that
enhances regional economic development. RTI provides everything from
one-on-one business assistance and consultation, to hands-on workshops
and seminars.
Who are your partners/clients?
RTI works with public agencies and private employers in various
industries to identify regional workforce and economic development
needs. Industry clusters that RTI works with include hospitality and
tourism, retail, restaurant, telecommunications, banking, health care,
and energy. RTI also works with professional services and
community-based organizations.
How does RTI work with its clients and partners?
RTI works with client organizations and then designs, coordinates and
delivers programs and services that:
* Provide pre-employment training in basic skills and job-specific
skills for people preparing to enter or return to the workforce;
* Provide post-employment training for regional businesses to upgrade
their employees' skill levels;
* Update and expand managerial skills of employees to help regional
employers maintain competitive edge; and
* Prepare individuals to move into jobs in new and emerging technologies
and industries in the region.
What kind of training programs and services does RTI offer?
RTI's training programs are performance-based and designed to upgrade
workers' skills so that firms can improve their competitive edge in a
global economy. RTI offers three types of training programs: workshops
and seminars; computer applications; and training for certification.
Can RTI customize a course or training program for our company?
Yes. RTI professionals can work with your company to conduct the initial
"needs assessment," and use that needs assessment as the basis for
developing a training course or program that is tailored to your firm's
individual training and development needs. In addition, RTI will work
with your firm to identify the best training schedule for your employees
and will provide this customized training at your organization, at our
facility or on-line�whichever is the best solution for your
organization.
How are these programs funded?
RTI's training programs and services are funded through grants,
contracts and consulting assignments. All of RTI's training programs and
services are designed to provide client organizations with the maximum
benefit at the minimum cost.
